FUNdraising Meal

Everybody that I know who has kids has more than one fund raising effort thorough out the year – school, sports, scouting, church, etc.  As you know, I am involved in Fundraising for my kids’ school and sports and with three kids, it gets challenging to come up with fresh fundraising ideas year in and year out.

And if you are "Room Mom” or “Team Mom" then you have the added challenge of motivating and mobilizing the other parents in your group, especially when the season or year is starting and nobody even knows each other.  I have found a way to get things started:  Have a FUNdraising Meal where you get everybody together to meet, eat and raise a little money.

Hold your FUNdraising Meal at the beginning, when the team or class is first formed.  This will start friendships that will make for a better experience for the kids and more fun and cooperation among the parents.

Have a very simple menu.  Here are two ideas:
Menu 1 - Pizza, salad and brownies with either Gatorade or water to drink.
Menu 2 - Hot dog / hamburger, chips and cookie with either a Gatorade or water to drink.

Charge everybody $5.00 for the meal.  They can’t eat out for this price so it’s easy to say “yes” to.

Of course, hold the FUNdraising Meal on a date and time that is convenient for everybody involved.

By the end of the meal, you will be surprised to find that you have raised some good money for your group, friendships are starting and you should be planning your next meal.
Enjoy!
Jillien
