Day 8 Forty Days of Gratitude: Dual Language Immersion Public School

Jillien is doing day 8 of 40 Days of Gratitude...

My kids and I are so grateful that they have the opportunity to go public schools that offer Dual Language Immersion programs in Spanish/English.

My oldest son, Hunter, has been in this program since kindergarten, graduated from Dual Immersion Elementary School and is continuing his dual language experience in middle school.   And once he graduates from Middle School he will have college credits for this program.  Hunter is an all-American boy who, at age 12, is now more than fluent in Spanish and, of course, English.

I have 2 other children: Q, who is in 5th grade and Rylee Brook in 1st grade and they are also both in dual immersion and both have also been since kindergarten.

When Q, who is now age 10, was going into kindergarten I got to the school at 3 am for the 8am registration opening and was lucky to be first in line. Today our elementary school held registration for the Kindergarteners and my good friends were there at 4pm yesterday to spend the night in line, in the cold, (ok, it’s California Cold, but it’s still cold to us) to make sure their child got into the program!  (They got the space for her)

Here is a local link from 1 of the 4 local TV News program cameras that were at our school overnight and this morning to capture this story.

Do your kids have an appreciation for them to make them better kids, athletes, people etc...?

So grateful to have gotten these guys into their dual language programs

What is the craziest thing you have done for your kids, loved ones, etc...

I would have done anything to get them into this program.  This program, which has really become a lifestyle, has been great for us and we are blessed.

Thanks, Jillien
